Product Marketing Manager

MiRXES is a Singapore-headquartered molecular diagnostic company with R&D, manufacturing, and clinical lab operations in Singapore, USA, Japan, and China. We specialize in microRNA technologies and the development, manufacturing, and provision of diagnostic test kits and clinical services. Our mission is to enable early disease detection and provide insights for better patient care by harnessing the power of microRNA to augment traditional testing. Our vision is to be the world’s leading developer and provider of accurate, actionable, and affordable microRNA-powered diagnostic tests.

Job Summary:

The product marketing manager is a critical role that works closely with Product Management to plan the go-to-market strategy and tactical execution of launches for new MiRXES products and services, and to plan and oversee the ongoing marketing of these products and services throughout their lifecycle. The role will have both product and segment responsibilities. They will also collaborate closely with Marketing Programs on the tactical execution of multi-channel marketing programs, and the collection and analysis of metrics to inform future activity.  Ideally this person will have a strong scientific background as well experience in marketing and/or business. There is scope, in future, for this person to manage a team of specific product/segment marketing specialists.

They are responsible for:

  • Synthesising voice of customer, regional market and sales intelligence, and product and scientific data to inform the planning of product launches and the development of strategic, operational, and marketing plans
  • Working with product management, marketing programs scientific/medical affair and corporate communications to develop impactful multi-channel marketing programs to:
    1. create awareness of, and demand for, the MiRXES brand and products
    2. generate leads
    3. assist in moving opportunities through the sales pipeline
    4. facilitate successful customers in advocating for MiRXES products and services to drive additional business
  • Understand the needs of the sales team to coordinate and deliver sales tools and training to ensure the team is fully prepared and informed on company products and services

Roles and Responsibilities:

Planning and Strategy

  • Utilise market insights, customer and sales feedback, competitive intelligence and metrics from the field and regional marketing to assist in global operational plans, marketing plans and product launch plans
  • Assist with the development annual marketing plans for the responsible product and segments
  • Ensure ongoing collection and analysis of metrics to ensure the effective and efficient execution of these marketing plans

Product Launch

  • Partner closely with Product Management to manage and coordinate the planning and execution of relevant new product launches.
  • With product management, oversee the formation and activities of the cross functional product launch team and facilitate pre-launch meetings with stakeholders in headquarters and in the field.
  • Execute the product launch activities as per the plan.
  • Collect metrics post-launch to monitor the effectiveness of the launch and work with Product Management on any critical issues, gaps, or required course adjustments.
  • Review product launch score cards at regular intervals post launch

Marketing Programs

  • Coordinate the global planning and execution of all other marketing activities, programs and campaigns, both online and offline, including conferences, seminars, user meetings, webinars, online and offline advertising, digital marketing, content marketing, and promotions for the responsible products and segments.
  • Define and manage the budget and prioritization for all the above activities
  • Collect and analyse metrics for all activities to optimize and adjust as required, and to inform future activities
  • Nurture established KOL relationships to facilitate their participation in marketing activities such as speaking engagements at events and webinars, and creating marketing collateral such as customer spotlights, and application notes.

Sales Enablement

  • Assist field sales by providing guidance and training on identifying target customers, product positioning, creating sales tools, and accelerating sales.
  • In collaboration with Product Management Scientific Affairs, and Regional Marketing, develop tools to enable the sales team to bring the latest scientific findings and success stories to their sales opportunities.

Competitive Market Analysis 

  • Collect and summarize global competitive activities including lost deals, competitor tactics, and successful MiRXES tactics 
  • Solicit and consolidate input from customers and field staff to provide in-depth market analysis and insight to sales and management regarding customer and market issues.
  • Provide market information and guidance to planning, forecasting, and business reviews.

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • University/College Degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline (molecular biology, genetics or biochemistry preferred)
  • Advanced degree in marketing, business, or related discipline is strongly desired
  • 8+ years of marketing, product management or related experience
  • Life science industry experience preferred
  • Product and Market Knowledge
    1. Extensive experience and understanding of leading genetics technologies and how they can be applied.
    2. Detailed knowledge of technological developments and trends in the markets in which MiRXES operates.
    3. Knowledge and understanding of the relative strengths and weaknesses of MiRXES major competitors.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills and ability to persuade
  • Experience working within the geographic region
  • Ability to communicate in language(s) commonly spoken in the region
  • Ability to travel within region to carry out primary responsibilities
