Job Summary
The Precision Genomics lab is looking for Senior Research Officer to support high throughput sequencing projects, such as precision medicine and population genomics.
The role of the appointment holder is to execute new NGS workflows in a NGS sequencing service lab. The appointment holder is expected to contribute to new assay workflow setting up, the execution of validation testing in accordance with the approved protocol, write testing report and apply validated workflow in operation. Tests are usually high-complexity molecular assays such as whole genome sequencing, whole exome sequencing, RNA sequencing, or metagenomics sequencing, but may also be other tests as assigned. The appointment holder is expected to have a degree in molecular biology and is confident in executing common molecular techniques such as library preparation, nucleic acids extraction, qPCR and NGS sequencing. The ideal candidate would have a passion for implementing state-of-art technologies to serve the general population. Candidates with NGS, clinical experience or exposure will be preferred.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan assay development work, such as design and run new assays for sample preparation, libraries preparation and sequencing
- Execute manual and automated experiment in assay development work
- Write manual and automation version of tested SOP and write validation report
- Perform sample QC, prepare sequencing libraries, and perform ultra-high throughput sequencing to support service operation
- Receive trainings on genomics sample preparation, library preparation, as well as high and ultra-high throughput NGS sequencing workflows
- Work together with Research Scientist on assay development in areas such as metagenomics sequencing, single cell technologies etc.
- Analyze sequencing data and report results in a timely manner
- Assist in troubleshooting and ensuring proper documentation of all processes

Job Summary
The Senior Assay Development Scientist will spearhead at least one project related directly to a pipeline diagnostic product or project area. The scientist will lead the design, optimization and preliminary validation work resulting in a prototype proposal for further product development. The scientist will also investigate and implement relevant technologies from either published or commercial sources in the service of commercially relevant projects. In the course of work, the scientist may create new intellectual property in the form of technology disclosures, patents, or publications.
The Senior Assay Development Scientist will report to Director, Assay Development. The Senior Scientist may also have direct reports in the form of one or more Research Officers or Scientists.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead development and optimization of clinical diagnostic tests based on molecular technology e.g. RT-PCR, dPCR, isothermal amplification, NGS (~40-80% wet lab time depending on project phase)
- Apply specific aspects of molecular technology to detection of miRNA, DNA methylation, mutations as well as pathogens of interest e.g EBV, HPV as relevant to the company’s focus
- Lead the exploration new technologies to create new diagnostics/assays, which meet/exceed current clinical requirements on diagnostic tests or improve on existing methods
- Design, plan and execute projects and experiments independently as well as coordinate one or more research teams that may comprise scientists and/or research officers, solve problems through technical knowledge, design control and awareness of basic regulatory issues
- Analyze, interpret, summarize, and proactively communicate findings in a clear and succinate manner to team members and leadership, and archive experimental results according to R&D guidelines
- Model good scientific practice and actively mentor junior team members. Train junior team members in experimental design, troubleshooting and new technologies
- Assist in building the Assay Technology Development team’s technical depth and cohesiveness
- Work closely with other colleagues to provide scientific inputs related to company products or their area of work, collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate assays into downstream applications
Desired Skills and Competencies
- PhD / Master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or relevant discipline with a minimum of 4 years post-doctoral or industry experience. Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant work experience and strong evidence of at least 3 years of independent research/development work may be considered
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in molecular biology research and/or development inclusive of postgraduate training
- At least 2 years of experience in assay design and development in oncology/early cancer detection is preferred. Familiarity with regulatory/quality assurance processes is an advantage
- A strong background of molecular assay development, in particular demonstrated ability to design assays on technologies such as NGS, DNA methylation analysis, (RT)-qPCR, dPCR or other relevant technologies
- Fluency in other detection modalities, e.g. protein analysis, extracellular vesicles related to liquid biopsy will be an added advantage
- Ability to work independently and flexibility to lead or be part of a team
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, especially on scientific concepts and about experimental design and results
- Ability to model working well in a shared workspace with common resources (applies to both office and laboratory)

Job Summary
Bioinformatician will help to build, maintaining and optimizing bioinformatics pipelines, including WGS, WGBS, single cell and spatial transcriptomics. Bioinformaticians will work closely with data scientists, clinical project managers to guide project directions and experiment designs. The candidate will be responsible for developing sequencing data analysis pipeline and process genomic data generated from Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and/or other sequencing platforms.

Job Summary
You will perform blood-taking procedures (venepuncture) for health screening Customers in the centre and/or off-site (home for laboratory investigations. You will also support sectional initiatives to review and improve work processes to achieve organisational goals. You will also be expected to support your Reporting Officer in other operational and administrative matters.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform venepuncture/blood drawing on Customers in the centre and/or off-site (mobile phlebo) for laboratory investigations, with miss-draw attempts must be less than or equal to 2 per day.
- Sort and records all blood specimens collected, ensure sample collected from the correct patient using the correct tube type, ensure specimen tubes and form are correctly labelled, and specimens dispatched to the laboratory in a timely manner.

- Observe strict infection control practices in the care of Customers.
- Provide pre and post monitoring nursing care of Customer that went for imaging procedure such as CT scan with contrast.
- Render quality nursing care to Customers according to their needs.
- Attend to Customer’s enquiries related to clinical (tests and procedures).
- Able to perform iv cannulation and venepuncture.
- Checking, dispensing, and administering drugs and injections (vaccinations).
- Manage inventory for consumable items and medications
- Provide health education and/or advice to Customers.
- Recognise emergency situations and assist in treatment procedure in the centre.
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly checklist available in the centre and involve in stock-take
- Participate in quality management and work improvement discussions on nursing care rendered to Customers.
- Conduct and provide training/educational talks to the clinical staff
- Any other duties assigned by the Nurse Manager
Educational Requirement
- Diploma/ Degree in Nursing, or equivalent
- Valid practicing license issued by SNB
- Valid certificate in BCLS
Desired Skills & Competencies
- Minimum 3 years experiences in inpatient ward/outpatient clinical setting will be an advantage
- Basic nursing competencies
- Knowledge in infection control practices
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a pleasant personality
- Able to work in a dynamic environment as well as being flexible and open to changes
